Complete the questionnaire
This step is important in that it helps you to crystallize what it is that you are hoping to achieve with your website. It also helps us as it gives us the perfect foundations on which to base our conversations.
Take part in the discovery meeting
A one to one conversation that is based on the information that you gave to us in your questionnaire (which is why it’s important to fill in the questionnaire as well as you can).
Here we get down to the nitty-gritty about your requirements and discuss the sites that you like which may influence the project.
After this I’ll send you a proposal and a contract.
Gather your content
On the website in a day program I ask you to bring your content such as text, photos and/or videos together before we start the build. This content might be a straight lift or a reworking of your current website content, or maybe entirely new work.
To make life easier, I’ll provide you with a prototype design concept and some online references that will help you in this process.
Build your site!
The big day. We will start at 9am putting together that includes the look and feel that you are after, and we keep going until you have yourself a brand new website. All we ask is that you make yourself available during the day to answer questions and provide a couple of reviews.
By 5:30pm all of the work and the final tweaks have been completed, and by 6pm we can hit the go-live button and notify the search engines that you’re new site is live!
Frequently Asked Questions
If you click on the Get Started button on this page you will be able to download a guide to the website in a day program.
If you have any questions, or would like to have a phone conversation, you can email me for a chat at email@example.com.
Yes! The website itself is built in a single day. There will be some things to do before the day, such as setting up hosting and gathering together the content for your website. Using my guides, I can help you with that.
If you can’t make it on that day, then please let me know as soon as possible so that someone else may be able to use it. If you have to cancel within 48 hours of the due date, then you will be charged the initial deposit.
We guarantee up to five pages. If there is any time left then we may be able to do more than this. If we aren’t able, then I am happy to discuss the cost of the extras.
No. Your new website will allow you to add, edit and delete your own information on the website after the day of the build using the content management system called WordPress. I’ll be giving you training materials to enable you to do this.
If you aren’t confident, or don’t have the time to update your site and would like me to do this for you, then I’m happy to discuss website care plans with you. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Not at the moment, but this will be coming in the next two months.
You should use the best photos that you can get a hold of. The better the photos, the better your website will look, and the more likely it will be that your visitors enjoy their visit and connect with you. If you can’t get original photos, you can look at some stock photo websites such as https://www.unsplash.com and https://www.iStockphotos.com
If you aren’t a confident writer, and you don’t have anyone who can help you, I can recommend a professional copywriter who will be able to help you.
If you don’t have a logo I can put you in touch with a graphic designer, or I can create a simple text based logo.
While this is not included on the day, we do provide SEO functionality and some training that shows you how to put your SEO together. We can also recommend people who can help you with this.
The website will be complete on the day of the build based on the content you are able to provide. It’s important that all of your text, images, videos and accounts are available by then. My advice would be to get as much as possible together before you book a build day, or discuss moving the build day.
